I splurged and bought Good Girl a PlanetBox lunchbox this year. It’s a stainless steel compartmentalized lunchbox that comes with two round containers for dip or yogurt or what have you. I also bought the insulated bag which has a snack pocket and a drink pouch. I got the cold pack insert, too, because hours in a warm bin = grod. The whole thing was around $75, so it wasn’t cheap by any stretch. However, she’ll be using this thing until High School. It’s sturdy and washable. Best news is it’s about the most environmentally friendly lunch system out there. You can check out all the combinations at www.planetbox.com.

oh yea, you're still on the early end of the parenting range on this one. my senior has been recycled plastic bagging his lunch since 3rd grade, the 14yo has lost too many lunchboxes to count - AND BRAND NEW WINTER COATS - i don't care if he stuffs a frozen burrito in his pocket and calls it defrosted by the time he hits the caf for lunch, that works for lunch for him.
hello kitty is on 3rd yr of preschool duty, though, maybe it's a girl thing...
n00b mistake, huh? ha ha - we'll see.
We have 4 of these and then enough lunchboxes for everyone to use. They aren't leak proof so for runny things we have to use separate containers, but it works for us. It's perfect for Mike and the kids, or me.

That way too we aren't locked in to trying to fill every cubby which would be an obsession for me.
That is THE coolest lunch box EVER!!!
